Attachment

Attachment is based on the idea that a secure attachment bond between a child and their caregiver is essential for healthy emotional and social development and serves as the blueprint for future relationships. Attachment-based therapy focuses on building and strengthening healthy attachment relationships between individuals, and repairing any attachment ruptures which may have occurred in childhood or in the current primary relationship. This approach works to create a safe and supportive environment where the individual can explore their emotions and attachment experiences.

Attachment-based therapy is a well-established and evidence-based approach that has been shown to be effective in treating a range of mental health issues, including depression, anxiety, trauma, and relationship problems. It can also be beneficial for individuals who have experienced disruptions in their attachment relationships, such as children who have been adopted or fostered.
